Though Australia has been a very popular holiday destination for some time, Perth is a relative newcomer to the tourist map. Whilst cheap flights to Perth are readily accessible, the city which sits on Australia’s west coast is relatively isolated when compared to other top destinations such as Sydney or Canberra. However, its pristine beauty and miles of beaches are encouraging more people to visit this popular spot. If you’re considering visiting Perth, there are five places that should not be missed.

Perth’s Beaches – Perth’s coastline is one of its most important attractions for many. Scarborough and Trigg Island are both ideal locations, with beaches which stretch far into the distance and offer days of sun, sea and sand. Many beaches have great facilities and services to enjoy, including water sports and fishing activities.

Rottnest Island – If you’re happy exploring the coastline, then Rottnest Island is a must see. Beaches are even more pristine here than on the mainland, due to the island being protected parkland because of its native flora and fauna. One animal in particular is unique, and you’ll have the chance to discover the island’s native quokka; a little, nocturnal marsupial. A short ferry ride is the ideal way to traverse the sea to the island, and you’ll discover plenty of luxury accommodation to indulge yourself in for a few days away from the mainland.

Kings Park – Located in the centre of Perth is Kings Park; a 400 acre park area of natural beauty. The Sunset Cinema is very popular in the warmer months, allowing you to watch favourite movies outside. Meanwhile, the Lotterywest Federation Walkway offers a bridge of steel and glass through the tree canopy. The Botanic Garden, opened in 1965, holds around 3,000 native species of plants, and makes an ideal place for an afternoon tour whether you want to explore the flora, or simply have a picnic in the sun. And, with many trails and walkways to explore, Kings Park is the ideal destination for outside activities.

Perth Zoo – Perth Zoo is one of Australia’s most popular zoos, and you can easily spend an entire day at this park. If you don’t have a chance to explore Australia’s outback, Perth Zoo can make up for it with some iconic animals to see, including koalas, emus, dingoes and kangaroos. The zoo houses a huge range of animals from across the world, and the lions are particularly interesting in their savannah replicated enclosure. There is also a network of secret gardens and caves for children to explore, allowing you time to relax a little if you’re travelling with the family.

Western Australia Maritime Museum – If you only visit one museum whilst visiting the city, Perth’s Maritime Museum should be your destination. With exhibits showcasing Australia’s history, you can get an insight into the region’s important place as part of the nation’s past. Perth Maritime Museum also explores recent history too, and you’ll be able to find exhibits on the 1980’s America’s Cup win and see Australia II’s winged keel.

Corfu is one of the Ionian Greek Islands, with an enviable location in the Adriatic Sea near to both Albania and Italy. With a rich heritage, the island is full of interesting historical landmarks and exciting attractions. Add that to the beautiful beaches for which it is famous, and it should come as no surprise that Corfu is an ideal destination for family holidays. With 8.5 hours of sunshine on average each day, this tropical destination is great for spending relaxing days at the beach, or exploring the ancient fishing villages. However you choose to spend your time in Corfu, each member of the family will be entertained and have a great holiday.

While Corfu Town is the most populated and built up location in the island, there are also countless other beautiful destinations on Corfu worth a visit. Nymphes is a large village with vibrant green plants and waterfalls that are refreshing to splash in. There are also a few agricultural vendors selling fruits and local homemade liquors that you can try, or even purchase to bring home as a souvenir. Kynopiastes is another traditional village, a mere 10 kilometers from the hotels and resorts in Corfu town. The entire village is full of incredible architecture, including old mansions, 17th century marble churches, and even famed taverns that have welcomed politicians, royalty, and celebrities. Small alleyways and cobbled streets make it the perfect place to roam on foot, letting your children explore the incredible buildings one by one.

One of the most impressive historical landmarks in Corfu is the Achilleion Palace. Built by the Empress of Austria Elisabeth of Bavaria, Achilleion was built in 1890 with the theme being the Greek hero Achilles. The whole palace can be toured, and there are guides to tell you interesting facts about each of the rooms. In addition, the gardens are beautifully maintained and boasts impressive statues and water features as well.

Of course, the main reason many families visit Corfu is to relax and swim at one of the popular beaches. On the West side of the island most of the shores have more white sand, perfect for building sand castles and playing on the shore. The Eastern side is generally home to calmer waters, ideal for small children who are still getting comfortable swimming in the sea. Lefkimmi beach is a favourite of families, thanks to the wide and long sandy shoreline, as well as the family friendly restaurant complete with a children’s playground. The waters are calm and perfect for children to play in.

Being a Greek Island, Corfu boasts impressive Greek cuisine. Whether you are searching for an upscale restaurant or a family friendly casual dining establishment, Corfu has something to meet your needs and please your palate. Captains is a popular choice for families, offering a mix of traditional Greek foods and Western favourites for kids. For a quick bite to eat, stop in one of the ubiquitous kebab shops for a loaded pita that is sure to satisfy your hunger.

Family vacations can be difficult to plan. It’s hard for everyone to agree on a destination. Mum wants to relax poolside. Dad wants to golf. And the kids just want to have fun. Wouldn’t it be great if one destination could satisfy the desires of each family member?

Orlando, Florida can. For many years now Orlando has proven itself to be among the premier family vacation destinations in the United States. Visitors flock to Orlando from all corners of the globe and it’s easy to see why. Orlando features a spectacular concentration of family oriented attractions and activities with enough variety to please even the most discriminating member of the family.

One of the reasons Orlando is such a huge draw for family holidays is the theme parks. Orlando probably boasts more amusements parks than any other city in the world, so they can offer something to tempt every member of the family. Get up close and personal with familiar and much beloved cartoon characters. Ride thrilling roller coasters and embark on spine tingling adventures to exotic locales. Sit back and relax while watching a colourful musical extravaganza worthy of the Broadway stage. With fun food and plenty of opportunities for shopping, Orlando’s theme parks provide everything from a quiet evening of elegant entertainment to hair raising thrill rides for the kids – or the young at heart.

But theme parks are not the only reason for families to choose Orlando as their next vacation destination. The city is also filled with cultural attractions. Museums abound in the area, meaning that families can learn about the area’s history and view art from all over the world. The Orlando area boasts several performing arts centres where patrons can take in the symphony or the ballet. With the region’s beautiful, sunny weather also comes opportunities for viewing botanical garden collections that are unrivalled in the state. Just because it’s Orlando doesn’t mean visitors can’t find opportunities to enjoy some sophisticated entertainment.

If a family is looking for an active vacation, Orlando should still be their destination of choice. Golfing is one of the most popular pastimes in the local area and the city’s many attractive and challenging golf courses are testament to this. Bring the whole family out on the links – or maybe mom and dad can enjoy a round while the kids party at a nearby theme park. The whole family might enjoy an airboat ride in the swamp or the opportunity to rent bicycles and explore a park.

Hotels in Orlando run from the affordable to the luxurious, meaning that every family can find the accommodations that are just right for them. Some have spectacular pools, excellent service, and incomparable rooms. Others are simply an economical choice for a night’s sleep. Either way, the choices are endless and are a fitting accompaniment to an Orlando vacation.

Orlando is the ultimate family destination. Enjoy some time together while exploring everything the city has to offer. One trip is never enough.

If you are looking for interesting and fun things to do on your trip to El Gouna, you will not be disappointed!

Boat Day Trips and Cruises

Consider taking a casual trip by boat to do some island hopping. You have the ability to rent a yacht or a motor boat for the weekend. Weekly charters are also available.

If you are looking for a little luxury, consider a Galatea Trip. Enjoy a cruise to the Gobal Island. Imagine a luxurious and comfortable motored sailboat with sun beds on an open deck. This boat has the capacity to hold 30 persons with its eight cabins. Indulge in a private day trip or a multi-day cruise. There are many options to choose from to make your cruise a once in lifetime experience. Customize your trip with diving, fish barbecues, island and beach trips. Snorkel on the magnificent coral reef and watch the marine life in its own natural habitat. Everything you need is provided for you on board. Once you are done snorkeling, head to the beach for an amazing BBQ. Spend the rest of the day exploring the island, swimming or just relaxing in the sun.

A trip to Mahmeya is the perfect getaway offering a fantastic beach, fun crowds and great music. Enjoy a lunch buffet that is included in this day trip and use the provided snorkeling equipment to explore the waters.

Desert Day Trips

Take a desert safari on a quad runner or a 4×4 to explore the Eastern Desert. Some of the trips even include a barbeque dinner and/or a camel ride. If you choose to take the Sunset Quad Trip, you will be taken to a picturesque village named Wadi Belliye. You will watch the sunset while enjoying shisha and tea alongside the Bedoins. Your tea, mineral water and soft drinks are included.

If you want to watch the stars, this day trip will drive you-via 4×4-high into the desert mountains. You will visit the Red Sea’s telescope station that is 40 kilometers away from El Gouna. There are two stops along the journey to enjoy a beautiful panoramic view and take the time to enjoy the sunset. You will also enjoy tea with the Bedouins. Once you have finished your barbeque dinner, you will be able to explore the stars with a telescope.

Monastery Day Trips

Visit the St. Anthony 4th-century community in the Eastern Desert that represents Christianity in its beginnings. Take a tour of St. Paul Monastery’s church and grounds, which was built surrounding a cave in a mountain. See the beautiful Sinai Mountains that house the renowned Ste. Catherine Monastery. These sights are reachable with a Sharm El Sheikh day trip.

Viewing History on a Day Trip

Take the time to visit some of sites in Egypt that are more renowned and rich in history. Cairo is about six hours from the town. Visit the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx. Shop at the Khan El Khalili Bazaar and visit the Egyptian Museum to learn all about Egyptian culture. Visit Luxor and explore the Nile’s East and West Banks. There will be stops at Memnon Colassi, Valley of the Kings, Alabaster Workshop, Ramses Temple and the Karnak Temple.

When you think of Venice, no doubt the images that come to mind are of a decadent nature, sumptuous hotels, and costumed gondoliers. The Venice of the 21st century is almost no different. A romantic city that by and large has kept its charm from days gone by, the buildings and restaurants are still a testament to the 18th century feel of the city.

Venice Carnival, which takes place annually around Shrove Tuesday, is a magical sight to behold. The locals walk around wearing fancy dress and the famous Venetian masks that are symbolic to Venice. The wearing of masks for this carnival has a deep tradition that was all but banned 300 years ago. In the 18th century, wearing a mask in Venice meant that you could take risks and liberties without being caught or seen. When this became so wide-spread that most business deals and love affairs were conducted behind masks, a council forbade the use of the masks on a day to day basis except on official banquet days or during the Carnival. This forbidden nature has cemented the tradition in place and is now famous the world over.

Carnival is so popular in Venice that it pays to book in advance as hotels are sure to be full! Renting an apartment in Venice is sure to be a great option as well – as you will have more room and privacy to enjoy your time in such a beautiful city.

Stockholm welcomes people from different walks of life and from different professions, being the biggest and capital city of Sweden this is one of the most visited city today. There can be different reasons for the visit to this city as the economic stability of the city is very high catering to different companies and even welcoming tourists with loads of attractions and places to visit within and nearby city. One of the important things you have to understand when you visit in this city is to hire a car prior visiting the city. Although there are facilities of rail, buses and taxis from the airport terminal, often you will have to take a new taxi after you reach your destination with the rail or bus and for taking a taxi from terminal you have to walk longer distances and stand in a queue.

Looking at the recent trends in the car hire industry and many companies venturing in the business there are numerous companies in Stockholm providing car rental services from airport terminus or from within the city. If you have not booked, your car you can walk in any of the Stockholm car rental agencies that are situated in the airport terminus but for that you will have to take a shuttle services or you have to walk long distances. Rather than taking all these efforts one of the best ways to access your rented car is by online booking of the car that will be ready for you at the same moment your plane lands in Stockholm.

Another destination from where you often needs car for hire is at the Stockholm Cruise ship terminal because many ships and cruses halt at this terminals giving their customers an opportunity to explore the city. With many car rental companies, giving last minute deals online booking often helps to compare different car rental companies with the cars they have and the rates they imply on these cars. Therefore, it is advised to book your car online prior visiting the city.

The old-world charm of the port city of Ajaccio will greatly impress you. The shops, restaurants and the ancient architecture barely prepare you for the breath-taking scenery and the quaint towns and villages nearby.

Make sure you bring lots of camera batteries for your drive along the coast. You could easily fill a memory card or a bag of rolls of film taking pictures of the coastline and its miles of seemingly untouched beaches and the myriad of towns nestled on hills and woodlands filled with oak and eucalyptus trees.

Cargese, an ancient Greek town, is set on top of a cliff at the northern-most tip of Sagone Bay. Stroll along the lanes, enjoying the scents of the abundant flowers and snap picture mementos of the two lovely churches there.

Visit Europe's only tortoise protection area at Cupulatta Park and marvel at the tiny babies to the grand oldsters that reside there in complete safety.

The Mediterranean offers a fantastic diversity of experience for travellers, and why choose between the arts and culture of Tuscany, the glamour of the French Riviera, the laid-back beauty of Dalmatia and bustling bazaars of Turkey when a cruise can offer you the chance to see it all? Spending days at sea relaxing on board your exclusive floating hotel, experiencing first class service whilst you glide past some of the most historical and recognised sights in the world, you will stop off at the some of the cities and ports that best represent each country you touch on; you are sure to come away from your cruise having tasted the authentic Mediterranean, which is as rich and varied as its world-famous cuisine.

P&O Cruises has a fleet of ships ready to pick you up and lead you through this vibrant region. With so many of its vessels servicing the Med, it won’t be hard to find the package to suit you; whether it be on board the superliners Azura and Ventura cruises with their unbeatable range of activities and the Ventura’s very special dining experience at The White Room (by renowned chef Marco Pierre White), the family-friendly Oceana and Aurora, equipped with super sleek lounges and sports halls, or the exclusively for adults Arcadia, a stylish vessel offering beautiful views from the appropriately named Sky Deck and, for panoramas of a different kind, an exclusive art collection housing more than 3,000 works.

If you can bear to tear yourself away from the ship, on your on-shore days there is plenty to do, with activities available as well as the chance to wander off and explore at your own leisure. Cruises are helpfully split into Western and Eastern Mediterranean, each offering a slightly different experience. Typically, Western Mediterranean cruises will focus on Spain, France and Italy, with some interesting diversions. You can expect to stop off at a historical town in Tuscany, taking in the leaning tower at Pisa and the region’s capital Florence, where Renaissance art can be marvelled at in the numerous museums as well as in the architecture of the city itself. Then, of course, on to Rome, to marvel at the Sistine Chapel and the mighty Coliseum, before sailing down the coast to Sardinia, relaxing amid the lush vegetation and taking a walk along the quaint cobbled streets. Or, you could choose a route that takes you to Barcelona, where you can admire Gaudi’s masterpiece, La Sagrada Familia, as well as various other of his works that are dotted around this vibrant city.

The Eastern Mediterranean cruises will take you to Greece, Portugal and Turkey, with stop-offs in the Ukraine, taking in the Baroque architecture of Odessa and the pretty vineyards and churches of Yalta. Alongside these more intimate destinations, you will get the chance to see the grander sights of Athens, with its ancient temples and monuments, the Byzantine and Ottomine architecture of Istanbul, and there is plenty of time to catch some sun under the palms in Palma and Alicante.

Whatever you choose, you are sure to come away sun-kissed, culture rich and keen to come back to this warm and friendly region.
